DTF Printing – Direct to Film Technology

DTF (Direct to Film) printing is an advanced technology in fabric and apparel printing. It combines high-quality output with design flexibility, using special films to transfer designs with vibrant colors and precision.

How Does DTF Technology Work?

This process involves printing the design directly onto a specialized film using dedicated inks. Adhesive powder is applied to the printed design, and the film is then heated to activate the adhesive. Finally, the design is transferred to fabric using a heat press.

DTF Printing Process Steps

  1. Design creation using graphic design software.
  2. Printing the design on film with a dedicated DTF printer.
  3. Applying adhesive powder and curing it with heat.
  4. Transferring the design to fabric using a heat press.
  5. Peeling off the film to reveal the final print.

Operating Process and T-Shirt Pressing

1. Preheat the heat press machine to 160-180°C (320-356°F), depending on the fabric type.

2. Place the garment on the heat press platen, ensuring it is smooth and wrinkle-free.

3. Position the DTF film with the adhesive side facing down on the fabric.

4. Cover the design with a Teflon sheet or parchment paper to protect it.

5. Press the design for 10-15 seconds with medium pressure.

6. Allow the garment to cool for 30-60 seconds before carefully peeling off the film.

7. Repress the design with the Teflon sheet for another 5-10 seconds to ensure durability and adhesion.
